Sewing circle

My last stop of the day was a visit to a very distinct Lahten village. The women of this tribe wear a dark blue tunic, which they make from scratch.

The tree type cotton Is grown in the village, spun to fibre and woven in the village and then dyed a dark blue with indigo harvested from the jungle. The resulting heavy cotton fabric is then sewn into the tribal dress that the women and older girls wear.
